A variety of highly textured work. Generally speaking, my abstracts stem from pure emotion even after a theme or concept has arrived. I love to study texture and am always attracted to weird found objects that I save for my artwork. Natural trinkets in the sand, industrial objects, items that can add texture. I love old fashioned hardware stores where everything is in bins and unique bead shops. I've even used peanut shells for texture! Metal shavings are also a hit with me. I like to combine the natural elements with industrial type items. A correlation of the past and future.
The female form is a beautiful thing and creating abstract pieces such as The 3 here, have all been inspired by one particular photo of an eddy by the Gulf of Mexico during a transformative and harrowing time. I Keep My Eyes Fixed on the Sun is actually a part of the series, Rise, and contains a very abstract quality to its POP twist, including her resin poured hair.
